My client wanted a drop cloth slipcover.
Oh my goodness! It’s been awhile! Summer is a crazy time, and I’m realizing blogging goals during the summer should be non existent! The energy it takes to get a turn on the computer when all the kids and their friends are home is overwhelming.
Couch–BEFORE— matelesse slipcover from 15 years ago. My client was ready for a slightly different feel.
Couch–AFTER–My client decided to use painters drop cloth and forgo the piping except at the top of the skirt. I did a 1/4″ topstitch everywhere else. Also no center pleat on the skirt for a cleaner look.
Disclaimer–I recommend using cream duck cloth instead of painters drop cloth for a longer lasting slipcover. Drop cloths have lots of flaws and runs and weak spots that don’t hold up after several washings. This wasn’t a high use room and my client liked the texture of the washed drop cloth, so for her it was great.
She made it pop with some fun pillows and a coordinating footstool.
Side notes–
This is what summer looks like at our house. The boys are always up to making some contraption. Now all the neighbors message me to see if my boys want the junk piles of wood, doors, etc. before they get rid of them.
Every summer for the past 8 years, we’ve camped at Carlsbad State beach. My Nephew joined us this year as well as 6 other families from our neighborhood. They boys are starting to pass us up in height!
Heber’s grammy passed away about 12 years ago while I was pregnant with my last baby. When we went to visit her at the hospital for the last time, she told us it was another boy coming our way. This summer Heber’s aunt let me into grammy’s closet to see if there was anything I wanted. I found this BEAUTIFUL vintage wool dress that grammy had sewn for herself back in the day. I love it, and it fit perfectly!
This summer–My girls and I have been training for our 50K (32 miles). Our race is in less than 2 weeks! This pic is when we hiked to the top of Mount Timpanogos and ran down (15 miles roundtrip).
I got to go to New York for the first time a few weeks ago for my friends bday. She works for Jet Blue–so six of us used buddy passes and flew to New York, saw as many sites as we could for a day and a half and then flew back home. It was an AMAZING whirlwind!
