Jen’s Sectional

October 11, 2012 by Shelley

First off still booked till end of January…email me if you want on my list
Jen over at Tatertots and Jello had me do her sectional last year in turquoise…which turned out GREAT! But she decided she wanted a neutral option to mix it up. She chose a gray duck cloth from www.fabric.com
Here’s her sectional—BEFORE…huge and brown.
Sectional—AFTER in gray duck cloth. I LOVE gray! Look at all her awesome halloween pillows!
She decided to keep the same skirt as the turquoise sectional. Love it!

Side Notes–

-I’ve got some new ideas running through my head…affiliate program for my dvd and pillow ebook, and an advanced slipcovering guide (tips for matching, telephone arms, wingbacks, stripes, fitting on site, waterfall skirt, cutting off back cushions, etc). Anyone interested in either of these?

– Heber and I are talking about buying a rental property in our neighborhood. Just trying to gear up for the thought of paying off another mortgage. Rates are awesome and prices are low… how can I say no to a good deal?

-7th grade math and soccer with all three boys is keeping life interesting!

-I caved to peer pressure and signed up for the Ogden full Marathon lottery, we find out next month if we have a spot. I am such a sucker!

-Had a great birthday this week–went to lunch with my sisters and received many treats from all my neighbor friends. Who needs to make dinner when you can eat cupcakes, cookies, and homemade almond joys?

Matelesse Bedspread Slipcover

October 5, 2012 by Shelley

Chair–BEFORE—Darling, but she wanted it white.

Chair–AFTER—white matelesse with gathered skirt. Queen size bedspread…used it all

.

Left the scalloped edge of the bedspread on for the bottom edge of the skirt.

I dropped the skirt a few inches down from the decking so it would hang down better.

Slipcovered Host and Hostess chairs

September 26, 2012 by Shelley

First off- if you have been eyeing my “How to Slipcover” DVD, I am offering a $10 off Promo code on my Facebook Page. Making it $38.50 with shipping.
I am also offering a bundle price for my DVD and “Pillow Talk” ebook…which you can apply the promo code to as well…making them both $48.50 with shipping (saves you $20).
Lorraine had me do these chairs about a year ago, but my after photos were not so good because of the lighting–So when I dropped off her white arm chair a few weeks ago, I took new photos.
Chair— BEFORE

Lorraine’s inspiration photo she pulled out of a magazine/ book (not sure which one)
Lorraine’s Chair–AFTER— tan ticking stripe fabric, with 2″ ruffle

 Front view

FYI— I just saw this fabric at my local “Home Fabrics” store on 7200 s. in SLC, UT. It’s beautiful, the tan is a tiny herringbone tone on tone texture and after it’s washed up it feels like heavy weight linen and drapes beautiful.

Side Note—
Many people know my sister and I are a bit of Christmas scrooges. SO this year we decided to skip the gifts and rent a beach house in Southern California instead. The kids are on board and my dream is coming true!

Can’t wait to hang out with them for a full week with no distractions (work, email, phone calls, etc). We are planning on using the hot tub, playing in the sand (even if we are wearing sweaters), bike rides, Christmas movies, etc.

I am all about trips and would rather make memories than give my boys another remote control car that they break in two days (true story–last year). They never remember what we gave them the year before…but they will always remember our trip to the beach house with the cousins.

Pic of the beach house we are renting for Christmas week.
